Job Title: Assistant Coach- Women’s Soccer (Part-Time, 10-Month Appointment, Salary $11,000-$16,000) Department: Athletics Reports To: Head Women’s Soccer Coach Location: Blackburn College – Carlinville, IL
Position Overview: Blackburn College, a Division III member of the NCAA and the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC), invites applications for the position of Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach. This is a part-time, 10-month position designed to support the continued development of a competitive and student-centered program. The Assistant Coach will play an integral role in team preparation, recruiting, academic support, and day-to-day operations of the program. We are looking for an individual who demonstrates strong leadership, a passion for mentorship, and a commitment to the mission of Division III athletics and the values of Blackburn College.
Key Responsibilities: Assist with all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III women’s soccer program. Attend and actively participate in practices, games, and team travel. Support the recruitment of student-athletes who are a strong fit for Blackburn academically and athletically. Contribute to practice planning and game-day strategy. Promote the academic and personal development of student-athletes. Support the head coach in administrative tasks, including inventory management, scheduling, and compliance. Participate in departmental and team fundraising activities. Attend athletic department meetings and staff development opportunities. Positively represent the college in campus, conference, and community settings.
Qualifications: Previous experience as a coach or athlete at the high school, collegiate, or professional level. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, support staff, and campus departments. A genuine interest in mentoring student-athletes and contributing to their overall college experience. Must meet the physical requirements of the position.
The salary range for this position will be $11,000-$16,000 per year.
