Established in 1996, Vision Soccer Academy (VSA) is a non-profit youth soccer organization serving Central Iowa communities, including Waukee, Adel, Clive, Dallas Center, Earlham, Grimes, Norwalk, Perry, Polk City, Urbandale, Van Meter, West Des Moines, and Winterset.
VSA’s mission is to develop people and players through soccer, fostering a community where players, parents, and the broader community experience growth, engagement, and excellence.
Position Summary
The Director of Recreational Programs & Coaching leads the design, delivery, and development of all recreational soccer experiences at Vision Soccer Academy, serving players ages 4–19. This role oversees U5–U19 recreational soccer, U8 Academy coaching, curriculum development, and seasonal clinics. The position ensures every child has a fun, safe, and growth-centered experience, while also supporting volunteer and staff coaches with clear guidance and training.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management (U5–U19)
Oversee seasonal rec programming, including team formation, age group alignment, and field scheduling in PlayMetrics.
Coordinate with league partners (e.g., IDL) for U9+ registration and team placement.
Lead pre-season welcome and coach orientation communications.
Coach Recruitment & Development
Recruit and assign volunteer coaches for U5–U19 teams.
Host seasonal Coach Meetings and distribute curriculum and coaching resources.
Provide support and guidance to new or returning coaches throughout the season.
U8 Academy Coaching (non recreational)
Serve as Head Coach for U8 Academy boys and girls.
Deliver weekly sessions aligned with VSA’s curriculum.
Provide mid-season and end-of-season progress updates to families.
Player Experience & Clinics
Organize and lead Friday Night Rec Clinics for U7–U10 players, engaging older VSA players as mentors.
Monitor player and coach satisfaction through surveys and informal feedback.
1B. Director of Member Services & Club Operations
Reports to: Executive Director and Technical Director Focus: Registration, communication, tryout coordination, volunteer and financial systems
Position Summary
The Director of Member Services ensures a smooth and professional experience for all members and families at Vision Soccer Academy. This role manages registration systems, payment tracking, family communications, volunteer coordination, and club events such as tryouts. It’s a critical touchpoint between VSA’s programs and the community, driving trust, retention, and clarity.
Key Responsibilities
Registration & Roster Management
Set up and maintain seasonal registration forms (Rec, Select, Tryouts).
Coordinate with league platforms to import/export rosters and player data.
Monitor registration deadlines and proactively communicate with families.
Payment & Billing Oversight
Track payments, manage volunteer fee reimbursements, and follow up on overdue balances.
Coordinate with the Treasurer for deposit tracking and reporting.
Maintain accurate billing records in PlayMetrics and other tools.
Volunteer & Event Coordination
Promote and manage volunteer opportunities (clinics, events, check-ins).
Track participation and ensure families receive appropriate credits.
Tryout Administration
Coordinate all tryout logistics: calendar planning, registration, check-in, evaluation data collection, and follow-up communication.
Ensure confidentiality and compliance with team formation policies.
Serve as liaison between coaches, admin staff, and families throughout the tryout process.
Club Communication & Support
Respond to family inquiries via email/phone.
Coordinate seasonal communications, reminders, and newsletters.
Create registration and attendance reports for staff and board meetings.
