Bridgton's soccer program, in alignment with the Academy's Mission, aspires to develop young men into mature, independent, decision-making student-athletes who are prepared for college and beyond. The Head Soccer Coach will be engaged across the whole campus, serving a vital role in the admissions office, classroom, or college counseling, depending on the candidate's strengths and experience.
The Head Soccer Coach is responsible for a year-round program, managing coaching staff, and game scheduling. Responsibilities also include all aspects of leading, coaching, recruiting, presenting, and, in partnership with the College Counseling Office, placing student-athletes at academically, residentially, and athletically appropriate colleges and universities.

The Head Soccer Coach is a leader on campus, assisting at Academy events (Registration, Orientation, Homecoming, Reunions, Commencement, etc), with some evening and weekend responsibilities required, as demanded by a boarding school environment.
The position works with the Academy Director of Athletics on oversight of all program management, operational, and budgetary concerns, while also collaborating with the Academy Director of Admissions to annually recruit and build a team of twenty-two (22) student-athletes, each of whom ideally reflects the Academy’s focus on attracting high character, mission appropriate young men.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated ability to recruit high character student-athletes
Experience in placing student-athletes in college soccer programs
Exceptional organizational skills, including excellent computer skills
Understanding of independent school culture, or a willingness to work toward that understanding
Empathy, patience, tact, collegiality and energy to build on Bridgton soccer’s tradition of postgraduate success
