Carthage College, an NCAA Division III institution and member of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, is seeking applications for a Head Women’s Soccer Coach. This full time position requires three to five years previous successful coaching at the college or club level. Reporting to the Athletic Director, the Head Women’s Soccer Coach will assume all aspects of coaching, recruiting, scheduling, travel and budget management. Evening and weekend hours are essential and must be cleared to drive college vehicles. They will work closely with the Athletic Director and Vice President for Enrollment to set annual recruiting goals.
Along with educational and sport experience, consideration will be given to the candidate whose characteristics maintain and promote the academic pursuits of Carthage student-athletes; comply with and reinforce the athletic department’s rules and mission; acts professionally and communicates appropriately with the college’s students, coaches, administration, staff, alumni and spectators; as well as willingness to develop professionally.
Program Leadership: Provide strategic vision and direction for the Women's Soccer program.
Coaching: Plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of team practices, game preparation and strategy development. Teach technical skills, tactical concepts, and life skills to develop student-athletes on and off the field. Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Evaluate player performance and implement development plans.
Recruiting: Identify, evaluate, and attract talented student-athletes who align with the academic and athletic standards of the college. Build relationships with high school and club coaches to identify prospective student-athletes. Ensure adherence to NCAA Division III rules and regulations.
Administration: Manage program budgets, coordinate team travel, and ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional policies. Schedule games, practices, and team events in collaboration with the athletic department. Maintain proper inventory and care for team equipment and facilities. Organize fundraising activities and alumni engagement initiatives to support the program.
Staff Management: Hire, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches, graduate assistants and other support staff.
Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
