POSITION SUMMARY:
The Castle Rock Recreation and Camp Director, reporting to the Castle Rock Regional Technical Director and Regional Manager, is pivotal in fostering a positive soccer culture for children. As a robust role model, the role upholds the club's values and ethics. Responsible for implementing the CRYSC mission, the role involves coach and volunteer recruitment, player development, education, and evaluation. The Director oversees the Soccer Start - 8U recreational programs and shares the oversight of Winter and Summer Camps and Leagues in the Castle Rock Region. They aim to exceed expectations, align programs with CRYSC's mission, and continuously seek innovative ways to enhance services. JOB FUNCTIONS:
Communication/Customer Service
Uphold and demonstrate a consistently high standard of customer service in interactions with staff, members, and guests.
Ensure timely responses to all emails and voice messages, aiming for a 24-hour turnaround.
Maintain availability during office hours to address phone calls, and support staff members.
Effectively communicate off-field aspects to coaches and parents through various channels, including in-person meetings, phone calls, and email.
Administration
Manage administrative responsibilities for the Soccer Start-8U recreational programs, winter and summer camps, and leagues, including player placement, coach recruitment, and team creation.
Demonstrate proficiency in various software platforms, including Playmetrics and Soccer.com.
Possess knowledge of the Rising Rapids and Competitive Program to coordinate training schedules.
Develop and distribute program updates and emails to keep stakeholders informed.
Attend all staff meetings and participate in discussions on Recreational Programs.
Operations
Implement the technical aspect of the Soccer Start - 8U Recreational program and winter and summer camps and leagues.
Develop age- and developmentally-appropriate curriculum for recreational teams, aligning with Rapids club-wide curriculum and methodology.
Provide education opportunities for staff, recruit and lead technical staff, including support and team coaches.
Organize and lead training, weekly communication, and oversee all in-season and off-season program components.
Support volunteer coaches with resources, coaching clinics, curriculum, in-person game-day assistance, and other tools to simplify their role.
Identify and promote players from the 7U - 8U Recreation Program to join the appropriate next programs.
Work closely with the other Recreational/Camp Director and Recreational Admin to ensure the Recreational Program runs smoothly.
Field Responsibilities
Ensure field readiness for the season's practices and games.
Support parent-volunteer coaches in training sessions and games, promoting the Rapids Way.
Collect & distribute volunteer coach supplies and equipment.
Act as a point of contact for coaches, parents, and referees, fostering a positive game-day experience.
Evaluate coaches to ensure the implementation of the Rapids Way across all events and teams.
Evaluate players to provide individualized support for their experience and development.
MARKERS OF SUCCESS:
Excellent Customer Service – Minimize inquiries from members regarding programming, game-day operations, practices, and prevent confusion among spectators at CRYSC events through quality pre-event communication and the presence of a knowledgeable Recreational Director.
Player Identification and Program Promotion – Appropriately recommend players for future programming based on a thorough understanding of their abilities and holistic considerations.
Coach Recruitment and Retention – Assign staff and volunteer coaches within the program, offering both technical and administrative support. Implement strategies to recruit and retain coaches to enhance the overall coaching experience.
Coaching Education – Provide seasonal coaching education and resources to volunteer coaches, ensuring alignment with the club's Player Development Plan (PDP). Promote and support the implementation of the PDP through ongoing education initiatives.
Operations and Logistics – Ensure timely placement of players on teams, collaborating with administrators and field coordinators. Maintain a professional soccer environment that reflects Rapids' marketing and enhances the overall experience for participants.
Strong understanding of soccer. (USSF Qualifications preferably)
