Westminster College is looking for an energetic and dynamic coach that will oversee our established and successful NCAA Division III and St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men’s soccer program. The program will be competing in our brand-new Kent and Judith Mueller Stadium this coming season. The coach will perform responsible program building including planning, coaching, managing, recruiting and directing the soccer program. The Head Soccer Coach also teaches courses in Health and Exercise Science which may include Physical Education activity, coaching theory, and officiating courses.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for building and maintaining the men’s soccer program through effective planning, coaching, managing, and recruiting.
Provides oversight to support coaching staff through involvement in hiring, supervision, evaluating and managing performance in alignment with Westminster College performance guidelines and standards.
Manages all aspects of the team including strength and conditioning, practicing, competing and scheduling.
Engages in regular consultation with athletic training and other sport department personnel to maximize the safety and wellness of student-athletes and demonstrates concern for the overall welfare of students at all times.
Evaluates and recruits qualified student-athletes.
Manages a fiscally sound budget.
Oversees the coordination of study hall and tutoring as needed.
Monitors class schedules, grades and student-athlete academic progress.
Ensures that appropriate rules and regulations regarding the conduct and eligibility of athletic activities and athletes are explained and followed.
Ensures that student athletes follow a standard of conduct that aligns with the core values of the College.
Responsible for men’s soccer student-athlete retention.
Responsible for marketing and promoting of the men’s soccer programs.
Game management in other sports as required.
May teach Coaching Theory course(s).
Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics
