Description: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Academy Director of Coaching (ADOC) will direct and supervise the TUSC Academy coaching staff and is ultimately responsible for meeting the Club’s overall objective relative to coach, player and team development. This person will oversee the U3-U10 programs, players, families in the Club.
This person will be working alongside other DOC's. Qualifications: Licensure: National “B” License and above or the ability to obtain within a certain time frame. Playing Experience: College or equivalent preferred Coaching Experience: DOC experience preferred or a minimum 10 years youth coaching experience, or 5 years professional or college Head Coach Other: Excellent communication and dispute resolution skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to relate to and motivate players and coaches Possess integrity and follow ethically sound standards Committed to working a non-traditional work schedule Ability to show evidence of creating and implementing a vision for the future direction of teams/clubs Job Description: The DOC must work within the guidelines of TUSC’s by-laws. Identify and recruit new coaches. Observe and evaluate practice sessions as appropriate. Offer guidance where necessary. Oversee and supervise all of TUSC’s player development initiatives by working with coaches, Program Directors and Skill Coordinators. Work closely with Skills Coordinator; supervise Skills Sessions curriculum and session lesson plans to enhance player development for all levels. Act as the TUSC liaison on issues that may affect the Club, including representing the Club at any functions, meetings, events or as directed by the Executive Director.
Provide a comprehensive monthly Academy Director report to the BOD. Attend training sessions/games at least 4 days/week. Conduct/organize parent meetings before and after tryouts/team selection. Assist coaches with resolving any/all parent and/or player disputes on any/all teams.
Review/recommend and approve tournament selections to ensure proper team and player development. Conduct and implement coaches’ meetings Coach one team as needed. Additional compensation provided. Provide other services as necessary and directed by the ED. TUSC Sponsored Tournaments: ADOC will advise and assist the tournament director when requested in promoting the Club’s tournaments. No conflict of Interest: ADOC shall not engage in any soccer related positions or activities outside of TUSC unless prior approval by the ED is obtained. Founded in 2004, TUSC is a non-profit youth soccer club based out of the Goodlettsville/Hendersonville area. TUSC is dedicated to fostering an environment that encourages individual confidence and team success by providing players the opportunity to enhance their personal development through the game of soccer in our community through the core values of Character, Quality, Unity. TUSC currently enrolls over 1000 youth competitive soccer players between the age of 5 and 19. While most of the boys and girls come from the communities served by the local areas, additionally, TUSC produces players from the greater Sumner County/Middle TN/Southern KY area who participate in our various levels of soccer programs. TUSC also has programs to serve adults as well as a program for players with special needs.
