Walsh University is a member of NCAA Division II that competes in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. The Head Womens Soccer Coach is responsible for coaching/mentoring student athletes technically and tactically on the field, as well as, guiding them through academic achievement and personal development. The coach is also responsible for actively recruiting and retaining student athletes, in addition to supervision of their program staff. The Head Womens Soccer Coach reports to the VP for Athletics/Athletic Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Coaching/mentoring:
Develop and communicate goals, expectations, and accountability to help maintain high standard of performance, ethics, and sportsmanship on the field, in the classroom, and in the community.
Create a relationship built on the sincere interest in each student athletes academic, athletic, and personal pursuits. Being prepare to collaborate with other college staff when/if necessary.
Plan, organize and facilitate individual and team training and competition.
Study and implement strategy and skills needed to prepare for competition.
Learn, know, and abide by NCAA Division II rules and regulations.
Lead in a way that positively reflects the mission and vision of the institution.
Supervise and train staff to plan, communicate, create, and model the same expectations as the head coach.
Recruiting:
Develop a strategic plan to identify and evaluate talent that would be a good fit for Walsh University.
Create relationships with prospective student athletes, their families, clubs, and high school coaches.
Build and maintain prospect database through recruiting events and ID camps/clinics.
Organize and work collaboratively with admissions to bring quality student athletes on campus.
Reach/Manage enrollment number and be able to maintain a first and second team.
Other duties:
Effectively manage operating budget with a balanced budget mentality.
Organize transportation, practices, and all game day preparations.
Identify and purchase program equipment with AD approval.
Re-establish an alumni relationship. Create a yearly event to promote current and gradated student athletes.
Be creative and willing to fundraise to support operating budget.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Must understand and support the Mission, Vision and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University, as a Catholic higher education university as expressed in Ex Corde Ecclesiae, and possess the following:
At least 3 years experience as a head coach at the collegiate level or other significant experience relative to coaching Womens Soccer and/or the administration of an intercollegiate athletics program.
Skills and abilities:
Professional demeanor and ability to interact with charity towards students, staff and faculty. Positive attitude a must.
