Anderson University (IN) seeks a graduate assistant in the sports of: Track & Field/XC (1), Men's Soccer (1), Women's Lacrosse (1), Men's & Women's Swim/Dive (1) and the support areas of Athletic Training (1) for the 2022-23 academic year.
Sport GA Responsibilities include, but not limited to: -Recruiting qualified student-athletes who desire a faith based educational experience -Use of recruiting software-Assist with all aspects of practice and competition preparation as assigned by the head coach -Monitoring student-athletes’ academic progress and conducting team study tables -Assisting with the day-to-day office operations and administrative tasks.
Athletic Training GA Responsibilities include, but not limited to: - Travel with assigned teams when necessary -Supervise injury evaluations and treatment sessions of assigned teams -Assist with coverage of team practice and game sessions as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer -Implement and Monitoring student-athletes’ Injury Rehabilitation programs. -Assisting ATC’s with the day-to-day Sports Medicine Center operations and administrative tasks - Assist with supervision and mentoring of ATP students. - Work closely with Head Athletic Trainer, Team Physician and Orthopedic specialists as needed
Qualifications for all GA Positions:
- Qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree.
- Commitment to University mission and Christian lifestyle.
- Admittance to Master’s program at Anderson University.
- Complete and pass required background check.
- The graduate assistant must meet University lifestyle expectations, GPA requirements and work responsibilities to be reappointed for the 2023-24 academic year.
Sport GA Requirements: -Qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's degree. Prior coaching or competitive experience preferred.
Athletic Training GA Requirements:-Qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree In Athletic Training; NATA certification, and eligible for an Indiana Athletic Trainers License, Certified in First aid, AED and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Sports Information GA Requirements: Qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree; experience in a Sports Information Office preferred.
10-month work period: August – May
Benefits: Tuition waiver for a Master’s Degree (graduate programs in business and theology), $5500 per year stipend paid bi-weekly over 10 months, campus housing, upon availability, and shared with other GAs. Graduate Assistants receive the remitted tuition benefit of 100%. This is a tuition waiver of up to $5,250 per year that is not taxable; tuition beyond this amount is taxable. Pre-requisite courses taken at Anderson University, the MBA Technology Fee, the SOT Community Fee and the Graduate Fee are covered by the tuition waiver. |
