Job Summary: Serve as an assistant men’s and women’s soccer coach, and in collaboration with the head coaches, help coordinate all aspects of the program. Teach various courses in HPES as assigned. This is a 10-month position that works August-May and is off during June and July.

Assistant Men’s and Women’s Soccer Coach (60%) Serve as an assistant men’s and women’s soccer coach, and in collaboration with the head coach, help coordinate all aspects of the program; Attend practices, competitions, meetings, planning sessions, and other essential soccer-related activities; Assist the head coach in administration and management of the soccer programs as assigned; Actively participate in the recruitment and retainment of student-athletes Adhere to the rules, policies, and regulations established by Luther College, the American Rivers Conference (ARC), and the NCAA; Demonstrate a willingness to support the mission, the philosophy, and goals of Luther College, NCAA III, and ARC; Perform other duties as assigned by the head coaches.

Staff Instructor in HPES (24%) Teach activity courses in the HPES majors/minor Demonstrate ongoing professional growth and effectiveness as a teacher Exhibit the ability to inspire and mentor students Demonstrated concern for one's discipline in liberal education

Administration- Other Duties as Assigned by the Athletic Director (16%) Serve as on site event manager for winter and spring competitions and events

• Experience: collegiate athletic participation required and successful college or high school coaching experience preferred
• Ability to work cooperatively with other staff and students in a wide variety of situations
• Willingness to recruit student-athletes and perform administrative duties

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• May require exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as noise, extreme temperatures, inclement weather, and other adversities as the incumbent perform duties and responsibilities in both an indoor and outdoor setting as well as occasional lifting up to 50 pounds and/or the ability to lift, carry, push or pull or otherwise move objects with a limited amount of force.
• Responsibilities require travel and a willingness to work weekends and non-traditional hours.
