Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution plus a minimum of three years playing/coaching experience at the college level; proficient in computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic knowledge of the internet; ability to communicate effectively and develop positive relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record that is insurable by OCU’s motor vehicle insurance carrier; available to work evening and weekend hours and to travel extensively.

The Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach / Head Men’s Soccer Developmental Coach has the following responsibilities:

The top priority must be the overall collegiate experience of the student-athlete and creating a positive and healthy team culture that encourages learning and development. With the guidance and support of the head men’s coach, the candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the OCU Men’s Developmental Soccer Team including but not limited to: scheduling, planning, and supervising practices and contests; team travel; managing the program operating budget; administering all aspects of the program ensuring compliance with departmental, institutional, River States Conference and NAIA rules and regulations; and additional coaching and administrative duties as assigned below. Assist with coaching the varsity men’s soccer team at practices, games, and other events. Assist in the development, programming, and management of OCU ID camps throughout the year Local recruiting: Responsible for recruiting in Southern Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, etc. Develop a strong working relationship with local club and high school teams International recruiting: Responsible for identifying potential international recruits, developing relationships with recruiting services and understanding requirements for NAIA eligibility and OCU admittance for an international student athlete Assist in planning, coordination and execution of all approved Alumni and fundraising activities. Assist in monitoring the academic performance of student athletes Assist with the gear order, monitoring the condition of the equipment and replacement/repairs of equipment when necessary Remain up to date with all forms of NAIA compliance Other duties as assigned by head coach or their designee Must be self-motivated, forward thinking, and team oriented. Must be willing to travel and work evenings and weekends.
