Saint Vrain FC is a community first, performance-based soccer club located in Longmont Colorado and serving North Central Colorado. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) youth soccer organization, providing a positive and healthy environment dedicated to the development of the youth of our community. Through a love of soccer, we foster a sense of club pride, team belong, and mastery of the game. Founded in 1981, we have over 1800 recreational and competitive players. We focus on the technical and tactical development of each individual player within a team setting. The ideal Director of Coaching - Grass Roots (DOC) is a highly organized, self-motivated teacher and mentor with exceptional written, verbal, presentation and computer skills. This person has a high standard for both ethics and professionalism while maintaining a good sense of humor and enthusiasm to share their passion for the game. A desire to continuously learn and improve must be inherent, and the DOC must exude compassion, patience, and sensitivity while working with all players, parents, and staff members. The DOC will work to ensure the continued growth and development of all players within Saint Vrain FC. The DOC will report to the Recreational Director of Coaching and responsibilities shall include but not be limited to: - Manage U9 & U10 age groups successfully transitioning from rec to Intermediate and Intermediate to competitive soccer
- Implement and maintain age appropriate curriculum for the U9-15 beginner/intermediate age groups.
- Run daily technical sessions for age groups U9-U10, as well as oversee staff coaches in the delivery of technical sessions to the U9-U10 age groups.
- Set guidelines for staff coaches under their direct supervision to ensure that they are following the best soccer practices.
- Work with volunteer coaches within each age group, establishing relationships, providing guidance and support where appropriate.
- Observe volunteer coaches on game days to provide continued support and mentoring, provide visibility and help educate coaches/families about rec to comp transition.
- Manage team formation and the acquisition, training and placement of coaches / managers.
- Communication to all players and parents about the Saint Vrain FC program.
- Attend all meetings associated with the successful running of the recreational and intermediate programs.
- Serve as a point of contact for volunteer coaches and parents on soccer-related issues.
- Help lead and organize the running of coaching education clinics for both in-house and state organized programs.
- Advise parents, players and coaches about all Saint Vrain FC programs.
- Evaluate recreational coaches and players to encourage those who are suitable for Intermediate and the Advanced programs.
- Support and participate in Saint Vrain FC tournaments and fundraising activities.
- Participate in all Advanced age group tryouts.
- Assist in field management duties as required, including but not limited to, goal and other soccer equipment movement and repair and field painting.
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred candidates will possess the following requirements or higher: - USSF Youth License/United Soccer Coaches Youth Diploma
- USSF C License or NSCAA National License
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of three year’s experience running and overseeing youth soccer programs.
- Playing experience
