POSITION SUMMARY Under the leadership of the Director of Athletics and Adventure sports, the primary areas of responsibility for this position include oversight and operation of the Men’s Soccer Team including all aspects of coaching, recruiting, budgeting, scheduling, fundraising and managing the men's intercollegiate soccer program within the policies and philosophy of Warren Wilson College. This position also includes oversight as the athletics facility director. This is a full time exempt position which supervises one Assistant Coach and a crew of 15-20 students.

Set a strategic direction for the Men’s Soccer program that is in alignment with the departmental expectations and institutional goals. Demonstrate a commitment to the College’s mission and the mission of the Athletic Department.
Schedule intercollegiate contests. Considerations include any Warren Wilson community event, travel time, competition between like opponents, and realistic demands placed on student-athletes.
Plans and implements a systematic recruiting program under the direction of the Athletic Director and Vice President of Admissions. Additionally, reach recruiting goals/quotas.
Must work on campus unless traveling for approved strategic recruiting initiatives/trips.
Recruit and retain qualified student-athletes who are capable of academic, athletic, and social success in a competitive academic, athletic and work environment through visits, scouting, phone calls, correspondence, camps, and clinics to meet established roster goals.
Promote a team culture conducive to academic and athletic excellence.
Hire and supervise part-time assistant coach. Create a high standard of athletic training, leadership, preparation, competition, exercise and skill development for all student-athletes.
Ensures compliance with all Association, Conference, and College rules by athletes and supporting staff. Program and Budget Management
Director of Athletic Facilities
Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars to improve and maintain athletic facilities and events. Actively research and remain current with trends in athletic and facility management.
Monitor all construction, facility repairs, projects, equipment, work orders, daily maintenance for the purpose of ensuring that jobs are completed.
Collaborate with the athletic director to create long and short term facility plans/programs.
Facilities management liaison - submit all necessary work orders to facilities and grounds.
Facilities contact person for visitors to campus (opposing teams, outside groups) and for other departments on campus.
Conduct daily/weekly facility walk-throughs to identify maintenance needs and create facility checklists pertaining to each facility.
Create and monitor a safe and clean environment for each athletic venue in conjunction with athletic crew members and custodians.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree required. Minimum 2 years of experience in related fields which include program development and collegiate coaching. Demonstrated team player that shares a commitment to enhancing the student experience. Athletic recruiting experience. Demonstrating competency in helping to meet program objectives, working independently and helps to establish program priorities. Current certification in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automatic external defibrillator (AED) use. Valid driver’s license, CDL, or the ability to obtain one.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree preferred. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with databases, spreadsheets, and excellent word processing ability preferred.
