POSITION SUMMARY. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the men's soccer program within the guidelines set forth by Loras College, American Rivers Conference (ARC) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Division III. Essential functions will include: •Oversees the identification, evaluation and recruitment of potential men’s soccer student-athletes. •Monitors and ensures the academic progress of each men’s soccer student-athlete in the program. •Coordinates the physical development of each student-athlete through appropriate condition, strength and practice sessions. •Recruits, hires, develops, and evaluates assistant men’s soccer coaches. •Directs and monitors the duties of the men’s soccer program's assistant coaches. •Demonstrates accessibility to the media, alumni, boosters and general public to publicize and promote the men’s soccer program, in coordination with the Director of Athletics. •Advises, supports, and counsels men’s soccer student-athletes academically, spiritually, athletically and socially. •Fiscally responsible for all areas of the men’s soccer budget and recruiting, including budget proposal, accounting and expenditures. •Recommends and oversees the purchase of new soccer equipment, supplies and uniforms for men’s soccer program. •Represents the College at all American Rivers Conference men’s soccer coach meetings. •Assists in the coordination of travel arrangements for road trips. •Oversees the development of the game schedule with the Director of Athletics. •Supports and actively engages in the mission and vision of the College and respects the College's Catholic tradition. •Performs related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in any field. Master’s Degree preferred. Minimum of three years of successful soccer coaching at the high school, college or university level, or equivalent.
COMPENSATION. Commensurate with qualifications, education and experience. THE COMMUNITY. Loras College’s 60-acre campus is located on one of Dubuque’s highest bluffs, overlooking the Mississippi River at the junction of the states of Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin, about 3 hours west of Chicago. Dubuque’s population is approximately 60,000 and its nineteenth century architecture is woven into limestone bluffs and provides a picturesque backdrop to the river landscape. Many residential and commercial areas have been designated as historical districts to preserve Dubuque’s unique heritage.
