Position Summary:
To oversee all coaching and leadership aspects of a model women’s soccer program as they relate to academic commitment, supervision of staff and personnel, practice organization and instruction, match preparation, recruitment, scheduling and budget management. The target start date for this position is January 2020.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Demonstrate respect for the Catholic and Franciscan values of the university. • Demonstrate the ability to relate effectively to student-athletes, coaches, staff, administration and the University community. • Participate in and promote a culture of continuing quality improvement. • Assumption of all coaching responsibilities related to the sport of women’s soccer. • Assumption of all administrative responsibilities related to the sport of women’s soccer, including purchase and maintenance of all equipment and coordination of food, lodging and transportation needs. • Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes. • Development and enforcement of team rules. • Planning, development and conducting of all in-season practices and conditioning sessions. • Instruction and supervision of staff. • Ensure that proper safety guidelines and standards are maintained. • Coordinate all strategy related to the sport of women’s soccer. • Responsible for all aspects of recruitment in accordance with university and NAIA rules. • Work in conjunction with athletic administration and Financial Aid Services in awarding financial assistance, specifically athletic scholarships. • Understanding and support of all athletic policies and regulations, as well as all philosophies, of the University, Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. • Understanding and support of the NAIA Champions of Character Coaches Code. • Work in conjunction with athletic administration in scheduling matches and practices. • Represent the athletic department and university in a professional manner at various internal and external functions and in working with internal and external constituencies, including but not limited to the media and general public. • Oversee all aspects of budget management. • Perform other administrative duties within the department as assigned. • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays. |
