The Assistant Soccer Coach will be responsible for assisting the Head Coach in day to day operations of the women's soccer program. Specifically, assist with skill training, coaching, scouting and recruiting. The Assistant will need to understand and model the athletic department's goals to help all student athletics improve athletically, academically and personally. Perform other duties as requested.
Examples of Duties:
Using a desktop computer: E-mailing recruits, typing out practice plans, responding to other correspondence.
Coaching: Helping run team training sessions as well as individual training sessions. Supervising workouts in the weight room and conditioning.
Recruitment: Talking on the phone, e-mailing, searching on the internet and traveling to visit prospective recruits as well as hosting PSA's.
Fundraising and Alumni outreach
Scouting opponents: Analyzing film of opposition and developing game strategy
Professional Development: Staying up to date on NCAA rules, soccer philosophy and coaching education, as well as personal fitness.
A minimum of 3 years coaching soccer at a competitive level.
Must have a valid drivers' license.
Applicants will be rated on the following criteria:
Demonstrated experience coaching at the intercollegiate/high school/ club levels.
Demonstrated ability to teach technical/tactical aspects of the sport
Demonstrated ability to fundraise for the women's soccer team and athletic program.
