Job Summary: The Graduate Assistant coach shall assist in all aspects of an NCAA Division II men’s soccer program. All LMU Graduate Assistants are full-time members of the department staff and will be fully exposed to the daily operations of a Division II Athletics Department in preparation for a future in the business of intercollegiate athletics and the coaching field.
Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for being a full-time member of the coaching staff assisting in all aspects of the program including recruiting, opponent advance scouts, film analysis, training preparations and implementation, and other duties as assigned by the head coach.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university. High-level collegiate playing experience. Must be extremely responsible and able to work individually within a group setting. Must be successfully admitted into a graduate program of Lincoln Memorial University and maintain satisfactory progress towards chosen degree. The ability to work evenings and weekends with occasional travel will be required.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong written and oral communications skills; Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office products; Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to communicate with other campus departments and LMU visitors; Ability to lift and move necessary equipment for travel and training; Familiarity with social media marketing channels including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram.
Preferred Experience: Previous high-level collegiate playing experience with a strong desire to grow within the coaching profession.
Additional Salary Information: Position Benefits: All Lincoln Memorial University Athletic Department Graduate Assistants receive a tuition stipend valid for 9 credit hours over 4 semesters, on-campus housing, and a limited meal plan. Employment is contingent upon proof of admission to the Graduate School and successful completion of assigned duties.
