Royal Oak FC (“ROFC”) seeks a motivated, inspiring and dedicated leader to become the club’s Director of Coaching and Player Development (the “DOC”). The candidate should be a leader and educator and have a “development first” philosophy and the ability to work well with coaches and others.
Lead, manage and develop the ROFC coaching staff to ensure player development is maximized.
Recruit, hire, manage and retain coaching staff.
Define and document a club-wide playing philosophy and training methodology, including short/long term seasonal training plans.
Attend practices and games for each premier team to provide mentoring, feedback and advice.
Define and document a player evaluation/feedback process
Hold regular coaches’ meetings and implement a coaching education program for premier and rec coaches.
Work with the Board of Directors to formulate and implement a strategic plan for ROFC.
Run skills clinics and camps for player development.
Attend monthly Board Meetings, communicate with Board Members and advise on all soccer issues.
Develop parent soccer education program.
Define player development priorities by age group.
Create coach evaluation criteria and process and conduct annual review.
Create college recruiting information program.
USSF National C license (or equivalent) or higher is required.
Professional or college level playing experience is required.
Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred.
At least 5 years’ experience coaching youth soccer is required and previous DOC experience is preferred.
Coaching education experience at the national, state or local level is desirable.
