Pfeiffer University is seeking qualified candidate to fill the position of Assistant Coach - Women's Soccer. The selected candidate is responsible for all facets of the program including student-athlete academic success, recruiting, summer and ID camp organization, foster and maintain a NCAA and conference compliance environment, oversee developmental team practices and games. This is a full-time, 12 month position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of daily operations of the women’s soccer program, including but not limited to aid in training the first team, coaching the reserve team, recruiting, film breakdown, field maintenance, organizing, training, and skill development of players during practice, and fundraising for both programs. Other responsibilities include helping out with team study hall, budget management, organization of administrative duties, and all other duties as assigned by the athletic department.
This position helps the head coach to supervise, train and organize the daily operations of the 1st team. The assistant will be solely responsible to supervise, train, transport and organize travel/food for the reserve team, as well as arrange their game schedule for the season.
Candidates should possess the ability to work well with their peers on staff, within the athletic department, as well as in the school. They must be able to effectively communicate the ideals of the school and our team to both prospective and current student-athletes, and also have excellent organizational skills. They must also have the ability to work in unpredictable weather conditions, step in to play/demonstrate at practice if need be, and also at times be able to aid in lifting equipment and heavier objects such as goals, benches etc.
Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, previous coaching and/or competitive experience at the collegiate level, proven experience in fundraising and social media, a valid driver’s license, and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. We also prefer someone who has positive, high level recruiting networks and connections.
