This is a full-time 220 day contracted position located on the Spencer Campus. Primary responsibilities are the development of student athletes, assistance with the men’s soccer program including the Junior Varsity Team, recruitment of prospective student athletes, practice and game preparation. Assist with housing and student advising on the Spencer Campus.
% OF TIME Constant (67-100%)ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Assist with the day to day operations of the Men’s Soccer program 2.Recruitment of student athletes. 3.Preparation of student athletes for intercollegiate competition. 4.Monitor academic progress of student athletes. 5.Serve as Lead for Junior Varsity Team.
Frequent (34-66%)1.Become familiar with and compliant of NJCAA rules and regulations. 2.Assist with placement of student athletes at four year colleges. 3.Academic Advising for student athletes. 4.Assist with Spencer Student Housing. 5.Travel with team to away meets, regional and national tournaments. 6.Assist with organization and oversight of off season conditioning and skill development program. 7.Assist with Student Athlete Eligibility.
Occasional (10-33%)1.Serve on assigned and voluntary committees. 2.Communicate effectively with supervisor, community, campus staff and students. 3.Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 1.Represent the College in a positive manner to employees, students, visitors and the general public. 2.Assume responsibility, deal effectively with problems, and exercise independent judgment when making decisions. 3.Read, understand, and express oneself clearly and effectively in oral and written communications. 4.Be creative, energetic and self-motivated individual with demonstrated leadership and organizational skills. 5.Ability to efficiently perform tasks in an environment of frequent interruptions. 6.Ability to effectively relate to a diverse group of students. 7.Ability to interpret and comply with all college and NJCAA regulations and policies. 8.Develop and maintain working relations with all areas of the college. 9.Make appropriate recommendations to supervisor. 10.Be a self-starter, with the ability to efficiently manage and perform multiple tasks in an environment with frequent interruption. 11.Ability to obtain proper license to transport student athletes to and form competition. 12.Possess a sincere commitment to customer service and quality. 13.Represent the College in a positive manner to employees, students, visitors and the general public.
SPECIAL DEMANDS: Sedentary to light work. Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally (10-33%). Stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and carrying occasionally (10-33%). Walking, lifting, grasping and repetitive motion frequently (34-66%). Talking, hearing, and viewing various types of close visual work constantly (67-100%). Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record and provide proof of insurance. Required to travel utilizing personal vehicle.
Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check.

Bachelor’s Degree required, College playing experience preferred, college and/or high school coaching preferred. USSF Coaching license OR United Soccer Coaches Association License preferred.
